BMC UnReStricted ONE Rival 1x11 Gravel Bike mco/red/grn
BMC URS ONE — carbon gravel bike
URS stands for UnReStricted, and the platform was designed from scratch for high-intensity gravel racing and long backroad exploration rather than adapted from a road frame. The URS ONE brings that frameset to a more accessible build: a URS Premium Carbon frame and fork with Gravel+ geometry, BMC's Micro Travel Technology and Tuned Compliance Concept, plus accessory mounts for mudguards and racks.
The build pairs a SRAM Rival 1x11 drivetrain with a DT Swiss C1850 Spline wheelset and 40mm WTB Raddler tyres — a straightforward, hard-wearing spec chosen for price-to-performance rather than headline weight.
Key features
- URS Premium Carbon frameset — light and compliant, with Micro Travel Technology taking the edge off rough surfaces
- SRAM hydraulic disc brakes — consistent braking control in the wet and on long descents
- SRAM Rival 1x11 — a wide 11–42 range with no front derailleur to drop a chain on rough ground
- Mudguard and rack mounts — usable as a commuter or a bikepacking bike, not just a race bike

Who this bike suits
- Good for: riders who want one bike for road, gravel track and light trail; commuters who want mudguard and rack mounts without giving up performance; anyone put off by the maintenance of a 2x drivetrain in a wet, humid climate.
- Less suitable for: riders who mainly ride tarmac and chase speed — 40mm knobbly tyres and a 40T single ring will feel slow on a road group ride. A road bike is the better buy if gravel is occasional.
Gravel riding in Hong Kong
Hong Kong has more unpaved riding than most visitors expect — catchwater roads, reservoir service tracks and country park access roads across the New Territories and Lantau. The URS suits this terrain well: the 40mm tyres and Micro Travel Technology take the sting out of broken concrete and loose gravel, and the 1x drivetrain means one less thing to clog with mud.
Two things worth knowing before you ride here:
- Country park cycling is restricted. Many hiking trails prohibit bicycles and some access roads require permission. Check the AFCD rules for the specific area rather than assuming a track is open.
- Humidity destroys drivetrains. A 1x setup helps, but rinse and dry after wet or muddy rides and re-lube more often than a European service schedule suggests. Hydraulic discs are a genuine advantage in Hong Kong's summer downpours.
Frequently asked questions
Is the BMC URS ONE frame carbon or aluminium?
Carbon. Both the frame and the fork are URS Premium Carbon with BMC's Tuned Compliance Concept Gravel layup and Micro Travel Technology.
What gearing does the URS ONE have?
A SRAM Rival 1x11 drivetrain with a 40T chainring and an 11–42T cassette. The 40x42 bottom gear handles steep loose climbs; the 40x11 top gear runs out before a road bike would on fast descents, which is the normal trade-off for 1x.
What tyre size does it come with, and can I fit wider?
It ships with 40mm WTB Raddler tyres front and rear on 23mm internal DT Swiss C1850 Spline rims. If you want to run wider, check the current BMC URS clearance figure before buying — ask us and we will confirm for this frame.
Can I fit mudguards or a rack?
Yes. Both the frame and fork have mudguard mounts and the frame has rack mounts, so the URS ONE works as a commuter or a bikepacking bike as well as a gravel racer.
Does it have hydraulic disc brakes?
Yes — SRAM Rival HRD-A1 hydraulic discs with 180mm front and 160mm rear Centerline rotors.
Are pedals included?
No. Pedals are not supplied, which is standard at this level.
Gravel bike or road bike for Hong Kong?
If most of your riding is Tolo Harbour, Route Twisk and road club runs, a road bike is faster and more enjoyable. If you want to ride catchwaters, reservoir tracks and country park roads, or you commute on broken surfaces and want mudguards, the gravel bike is the more useful bike here.
Is delivery free in Hong Kong?
Yes. Bikes are delivered free in Hong Kong with no minimum order. Delivery to the outlying islands is not included — please contact us for a quote.
