The LITE 15 is the board you will actually carry to the water. At 4.57 m and 10.5 kg it is the shortest and lightest boat ROWonAIR makes — 15.5 kg with pump, fins, strap and backpack — and it inflates in under five minutes. It is also the only one in the range designed to work as a stand-up paddle board when the rowing skid is off, which makes it the sensible single purchase if you want both.
Can one board really do rowing and stand-up paddling?
Here, yes, because the LITE was drawn for it. 66 cm of width at 4.57 m is a normal touring-SUP footprint, and 16 PSI in Woven-Fusion Drop Stitch gives the stiffness a paddler standing amidships needs. Fit the rowing skid to the pre-mounted D-rings and it becomes a sliding-seat single; unclip it and you have a SUP with luggage netting. The longer MOJO and DUDE will out-row it, and a dedicated race SUP will out-paddle it, but neither does both.
How much does the shorter hull cost you in speed?
Some, honestly. A 4.57 m waterline cannot hold the speed of a 5.49 m one, and the 160 kg load rating means one rower, not two. What you get back is manoeuvrability in tight water, a five-minute set-up, and a boat light enough to carry down steps single-handed. For sheltered bays, rivers and reservoirs — most rowing in Hong Kong — that trade is usually the right way round.
What is the 4° V-bottom for?
It stops the board slapping. A flat-bottomed inflatable pounds into small chop and loses speed with every hit; the V-section takes the water in a line instead, and the rocker built into the hull lifts the bow as you accelerate. Three fins — one 7.7″ rear and two 2.4″ forward, all in GRI quick-hook boxes — keep it straight enough to row without correcting.
Which rowing system fits it?
The Flat Outrigger version of either — RowVista® for forward rowing with blade feathering, or RowMotion® for classic reverse sculling. Both hook into the pre-mounted D-rings, tension with a strap, and assemble in about two minutes with no tools. Rowing systems and SUP paddles are sold separately.
