Rear Wheel

This is a matte-black Fnhon 20-inch (451) folding bike built around a carbon fibre fork and KOMCAS carbon wheels. It comes in two versions: carbon tri-spoke wheels front and rear, or a tri-spoke front with a full carbon disc wheel at the rear. Both run a single 54T chainring with a Shimano 105 11-speed shifter, rear derailleur, cassette and chain, and stop on Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes. It is for riders who want a folding bike that rides like a small-wheeled road bike, not a basic commuter.

Tri-spoke or disc rear wheel: which version should you choose?

The two versions share the same frame, fork, drivetrain and brakes. Only the rear wheel changes. The Carbon Tri-Spoke version has a three-blade KOMCAS carbon wheel at both ends. The Carbon Disc Wheel version keeps the tri-spoke at the front and fits a closed KOMCAS carbon disc at the rear. The product photo switches when you select a rear wheel above, so you can see each version before adding to cart. A disc wheel catches more side wind than a tri-spoke, so the tri-spoke pair is the easier choice for gusty, exposed routes, and the disc is the one to pick for the full time-trial look.

What makes this build different from a standard Fnhon folding bike?

Most 20-inch folding bikes ship with an alloy fork and spoked alloy wheels. This one swaps both. The fork is Fnhon carbon fibre, and the wheels are KOMCAS carbon in the 451 size, the larger of the two 20-inch wheel standards. With either rear wheel there are no spokes to tension or true. Frame, fork, handlepost, seatpost and wheels are all finished in the same matte black.

Is one chainring enough on a folding bike?

The drivetrain is 1x11. A Litepro 54T narrow-wide chainring sits on a one-piece Fnhon crankset, and the shifter, rear derailleur, cassette and chain are Shimano 105 11-speed. Narrow-wide teeth hold the chain without a front derailleur, which means one shifter on the bar, fewer parts to adjust and nothing extra to catch when the bike is folded. The 54T ring is sized for the smaller wheel, so top gear stays useful on flat roads.

How does it brake and how does it fit?

Braking is Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc, levers and calipers, with HS1 rotors. Hydraulic discs need less hand force than cable discs and keep working in the wet. For fit, the Fnhon two-section handlepost adjusts for height, the handlebar is 580 mm wide and the 33.9 mm CNC seatpost is one piece. The frame folds in half at the main hinge.
