This is the energy half of a TEMO SEASIDE pod system: a 48 V, 2.3 kWh lithium cassette supplied with its autoconnect rack. The battery drops into the rack and the system resets and arms itself — there is no connector to mate by hand and no commissioning step. At 12 kg it lifts out in seconds, which is the point: you take the battery home to charge instead of leaving the boat plugged into a pontoon.
How long does one 2.3 kWh battery run a TEMO pod?
Around 2 hours 50 minutes at 1,100 W. That is TEMO's figure and it is the honest planning number for a POD·1000 or OUTPOD·1000 at cruising power. Push a 1,300 W motor harder and it comes down; run a 3,100 W POD·3000 on a single cassette and you will get well under an hour, which is why the 3000 packs are normally specified with several batteries in parallel.
Can you add capacity later?
Yes — TEMO batteries are parallelizable, so a bank is built from multiples of this cassette rather than bought as one fixed block. Start with the capacity your typical trip needs and add cassettes as the use case grows, or carry a spare and swap it on the water. The SEASIDE system is also semi-open, meaning approved partner batteries can be used alongside it if the boat already has a 48 V bank.
Why does a removable cassette matter on a boat?
Three things get easier. Winterising no longer means disconnecting the whole propulsion system — you pull the cassette and store it. Charging no longer depends on shore power at the berth, because the battery goes home with you and charges from a domestic socket with TEMO's 8 A home charger. And checking state of charge takes a button press on the battery itself; you do not have to insert it into the motor or power up the boat to see where you are.
