Aqua Marina A-Deluxe inflatable boat
The A-Deluxe is a roll-up inflatable tender, made to be carried to the water rather than trailered to it. It sets up in minutes with no slipway and no special equipment, which makes it a practical second boat — a ship-to-shore tender, a fishing platform, or a way to reach the parts of the coastline you have only ever seen from the shore.
We stock five sizes from 2.5m to 3.6m. The 2.5m uses a slat wood floor for the lightest possible pack; the four larger boats all use a rigid aluminium floor, which is what lets them plane properly with a larger outboard.

Sizing the engine — read this before you buy one
The maximum engine rating changes substantially across the range, from 4 HP on the 2.5m to 20 HP on the 3.6m. It is a safety limit, not a suggestion:

Over the rating is unsafe and voids the warranty.

Under-powered means the boat ploughs, never planes, and burns more fuel to go slower.

All sizes take short shaft engines only — the transom is 15" (38.1 cm) across the entire range. A long shaft engine will sit too deep.
Check the rating for the exact size you are buying before ordering an outboard. If you are unsure, ask us first.
Choosing a size

2.5 m (2+1 passengers, 240 kg) — the lightest at 25 kg and the easiest to carry and store. A slat wood floor and a 4 HP limit make it a rowing and small-engine tender rather than a planing boat.

2.77 m (3+1, 320 kg) — the smallest boat in the range with a rigid aluminium floor and a 9.9 HP rating, so the first size that will plane properly.

2.96 m (4 passengers, 360 kg) — a genuine four-person boat on the same 9.9 HP limit.

3.3 m (5, 480 kg) — a step up to 15 HP and higher 0.25 bar hull pressure for a stiffer ride, at only 1 kg more than the 2.96m.

3.6 m (5+1, 540 kg) — the largest, widest and only 20 HP-capable boat. At 57 kg it is a two-person carry.
Note the 3.3 m is the value point in the range: it carries 120 kg more than the 2.96 m and takes a 15 HP engine, for HK$652 more and 1 kg extra weight.
Storage and transport in Hong Kong
The point of a roll-up is that it does not need a marina berth. Packed, these boats take roughly the space of one to two large suitcases depending on size, and travel on a back seat or in a boot. No trailer, no slipway booking, no monthly berthing fee.
Two maintenance habits matter in this climate: rinse with fresh water and dry the boat completely before packing, because salt left in the seams degrades them and a damp boat packed in Hong Kong humidity grows mould within days; and keep it out of direct sun, because UV is what ages the fabric.

Which A-Deluxe size should I choose?
Work backwards from passengers and engine. For two adults rowing or with a small outboard, the 2.5m is enough. For a family of four, the 2.96m. For five people or a 15 HP engine, the 3.3m — which is the best value in the range. Only the 3.6m takes a 20 HP engine.
What size engine can the A-Deluxe take?
It depends entirely on the size: 4 HP on the 2.5m, 9.9 HP on the 2.77m and 2.96m, 15 HP on the 3.3m, and 20 HP on the 3.6m. Every size takes short shaft engines only, with a 15" (38.1 cm) transom.
Is an engine included?
No. The boat ships with oars, a pump, a bench seat, a carry bag and a repair kit, but the outboard is sold separately. Contact us for engine options.
What is the difference between the aluminium floor and the slat wood floor?
Our 2.5m uses a slat wood floor — lightest to carry and quickest to roll up, but it flexes, so it will not plane. The 2.77m and larger all use a rigid aluminium floor, which is stiff enough to plane with a proper engine, does not rot, and is lighter than a plywood floor.
How many air chambers does it have?
The 2.5m has three independent chambers; every larger size has three plus an inflatable keel. Multiple independent chambers mean a single puncture will not sink the boat.
Can I store an inflatable boat in a Hong Kong flat?
Yes, and it is the main reason people choose a roll-up over a rigid tender here. Packed weights run from 25 kg on the 2.5m to 57 kg on the 3.6m, and all sizes store in a storeroom, a wardrobe or a car park space rather than a marina berth.
Do I need a licence to operate an inflatable boat in Hong Kong?
Licensing and operator certification requirements for powered pleasure vessels are set by the Hong Kong Marine Department, and they depend on the vessel and the engine. Please check the current requirements with the Marine Department before buying an engine, or contact us and we will point you to the right guidance.
