The JayKay E-Fin is a fully integrated underwater drive in the fin design for stand-up paddles or similar floats with a US box or slot box mount.

The drive has an output of approx. 400 watts and generates a static thrust of approx. 5 kg. The drive, controller and energy storage are completely integrated in the fin (all-in design) and are dust and water-tight according to IP 68. The e-fin can be attached to all SUPs or kayaks with a slide-in box or US box holder using a screw-on adapter and has dimensions of 252 x 265 x 110 mm (hxlxw) and a weight of approx. 1.9 kg.

The material of the housing is made of polycarbonate and is available in different colors. The power can be continuously adjusted via the remote. This results in the following runtimes:

4 h @ 50W
2 h @ 100W
1 h @ 200W
0,5 h @ 400W
The achievable speed is strongly dependent on the geometry of the float and the weight of the rider and is approx. 6 – 8 km/h.

Battery packk

The built-in LiIon battery pack has a nominal voltage of 21.6 V DC and a capacity of 10 Ah. The e-fin is charged with an external power supply unit via the built-in magnetic connector. The charger has an output voltage of 25.2 V DC and a maximum current of 4.0 A. This results in a charging time of approx. 3 hours.

The e-fin switches on automatically when it is immersed in water and switches off as soon as it is taken out of the water. The drive is automatically stopped when falling into the water. The warranty is 24 months or 12 months on the battery.

Remote

The remote is required to control the e-fin and can be attached to all paddles with a diameter of 24-28 mm. The runtime of the remote is 6 hours. The remote has dimensions of 118 x 30 x 40 mm (lxwxh) and a weight of 50 g.

The remote is charged using the included charging cable. This is connected to a standard USB source on the one hand and to the magnetic charging plug on the remote on the other. The charging time is approx. 2.5 hours. The housing is made of polycarbonate and is also available in different colors. The remote is dust and waterproof according to IP 68.

The Off / AUTO / MAN states can be set using the rotary knob on the remote.
OFF: Remote off
AUTO: paddle assistant, the motor supports the paddle stroke with the set power.
MAN: Continuous power, the motor works continuously with the set output.

The motor output of the e-fin is set using the slider. For more performance and or runtime, up to five e-fins can be coupled with a remote. All connected E-fins run synchronously.
