The Liv 2027 EnviLiv Advanced 1 is a women's aero road bike pairing an Advanced-Grade Composite frameset with electronic Shimano 105 Di2 shifting and Giant SLR 2 50 carbon disc wheels. It is the EnviLiv platform at its sweet spot: race aerodynamics, electronic shifting, carbon hoops.

Why you'll love this Liv EnviLiv Advanced 1

  • Electronic shifting: Shimano 105 Di2 with a 36/52 Shimano 105 crankset.
  • 50mm carbon wheels: Giant SLR 2 50 Carbon Disc, CenterLock, 12mm thru-axle.
  • Aero cockpit: Liv Contact SL Aero bar and -10 degree stem, 72mm reach and 125mm drop, sized per frame.
  • Tubeless from the box: Giant Gavia Course 700x28c folding tubeless tyres.
  • Genuinely small frames: XXS and XS with the Liv Alacra SL saddle and size-specific cockpit.

Who this bike suits

  • Good for: smaller riders who want electronic shifting and carbon wheels on a frame that actually fits, without stepping up to Ultegra money. Di2 also removes the cables that seize in Hong Kong humidity.
  • Less suitable for: riders above roughly 165cm — the EnviLiv range stops at XS here. Riders who train to power targets and want a meter fitted as standard should look at the Advanced Pro 0.

Why frame size matters more than anything else

Finding a properly small road bike in Hong Kong is genuinely difficult, and the usual workaround — a size S frame with a short stem and the saddle pushed forward — puts a rider in a compromised position that causes hand, neck and knee problems on longer rides.

The EnviLiv is built the other way round: geometry, handlebar width and stem length are specified per size rather than shrunk from a larger frame. Get the size right and everything else on the bike works as intended.

Riding in Hong Kong

A 50mm-deep carbon wheelset pays off on sustained speed — Tolo Harbour, the Tai Po to Tai Mei Tuk cycle track and New Territories group riding. Deep rims also catch more crosswind than shallow ones, which is worth knowing on exposed sections during the monsoon, and matters more for a lighter rider.

Two practical points specific to riding here:

  • Humidity is hard on drivetrains. Di2 helps because there are no shift cables to seize, but chain and cassette maintenance still needs to be more frequent than a European service schedule assumes.
  • Storage. Even a small frame is roughly 165 x 100 cm with the front wheel on. Check lift access and whether your building permits bikes in common areas before delivery.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes does the Liv EnviLiv Advanced 1 come in?

XXS (44.5 cm) and XS (46.5 cm), both with a 340/360mm bar and an 80mm stem.

What is the difference between the EnviLiv Advanced 2, Advanced 1 and Advanced Pro 0?

  • Advanced 2 — HK$21,800: mechanical Shimano 105, Giant P-A1 alloy wheels.
  • Advanced 1 — HK$32,800: electronic Shimano 105 Di2, Giant SLR 2 50 carbon wheels.
  • Advanced Pro 0 — HK$48,800: Shimano Ultegra Di2, SLR 0 50 carbon wheels, a Giant Power Pro power meter and a one-piece integrated cockpit.

Is Shimano 105 Di2 worth the step up from mechanical 105?

Di2 shifts consistently regardless of cable condition, which matters more in Hong Kong humidity than in a dry climate, and it takes noticeably less hand force — a real benefit for riders with smaller hands on long rides. It needs charging every few thousand kilometres. On this build you are also paying for carbon wheels, which change how the bike rides more than the groupset does.

Is it tubeless ready?

Yes, with Giant Gavia Course 700x28c tubeless folding tyres fitted from the box.

Are pedals included?

No. Pedals are not supplied.

What size should I buy?

With only two sizes in this range, getting it right matters. Contact us with your height and inseam before ordering and we will advise, or tell you honestly if neither size will fit you.

Is delivery free in Hong Kong?

Yes. Bikes are delivered free in Hong Kong with no minimum order. Delivery to the outlying islands is not included — please contact us for a quote.
