RowMotion® converts a board, a SUP, a kayak or a canoe into a sliding-seat sculling boat, and it does it in about two minutes with no tools. You row in the classic reverse style — facing the stern, adjustable rowlocks, six-ball-bearing seat on a roller rail — using carbon sculls that come apart to 1.66 m for transport. It is the simpler and considerably cheaper of ROWonAIR's two systems.
RowMotion® or RowVista® — which one?
RowMotion® is conventional sculling: you face backwards, the sculls are ordinary big-blade carbon oars, and if you have rowed at a club it will feel immediately familiar. RowVista® turns you round to face the bow and keeps blade feathering through a patented linkage, which is worth a great deal in coastal water and boat traffic — and costs roughly a third more. Buy RowMotion® if you row known water and already scull; buy RowVista® if you row open water, or if you are learning.
What can you fit it to?

Both outriggers are carbon at 3.1 kg with a bag. The skid hooks into a board's D-rings with stainless steel hooks and buckles, and two 2 m polyester mounting straps are supplied for boards without fittings — no loss of speed and the same gliding characteristics either way.
Which configuration should you order?

How well does it pack for travel?
Better than the RowVista®. The partable sculls separate using push-in ball locks to 1.66 m (65″) from an assembled 2.92 m, and each scull weighs only 1.6 kg — they go in a single 16 × 24 × 166 cm bag that fits inside the ROWonAIR travel bag. The monorail is 6.6 kg excluding bags. The whole system, plus a LITE 15, is a two-piece airline load.
Is a sliding seat on an inflatable actually worth it?
That is the whole point of the design. A fixed-seat rowing rig uses arms and back; a sliding seat brings the legs in, which is where the power is, and the six-ball-bearing polyurethane or carbon seat runs quietly enough that you notice the water instead. The foot stretcher pivots on an axle so the Achilles tendon is not over-extended at the catch, and non-slip support feet keep the frame from creeping on a wet deck.
