The 8 A home charger takes a TEMO SEASIDE 2.3 kWh battery from empty to full in about 7 hours from an ordinary domestic socket. It is the accessory that makes the removable-cassette system worth having: instead of arranging shore power at the berth, you carry the battery home and charge it where you live.
Why charge at home instead of at the pontoon?
Marina shore power is often metered, sometimes unavailable on a swinging mooring, and always means leaving the boat connected. Because the SEASIDE cassette lifts out in seconds at 12 kg, the simpler answer is to bring it with you. For anyone on a mooring or a drying berth, this charger is not optional — it is how the boat gets charged at all.
What does the docking station do?
The dock holds the battery upright and stable while it charges, so the cassette is not resting on its connectors or leaning against a wall. It detaches from the charger, which means the battery can then be stored vertically in the same dock and take up considerably less floor space over winter. The charger itself is compact enough to leave set up permanently in a garage or utility room.
